My Medical Choice

Angelina Jolie opens up about her decision to have a preventive double mastectomy.

There is so much wrong with women doing this.  I feel like they aren’t being properly informed by their medical providers.  Removal of breasts does not remove the risk of breast cancer.  Breast cancer can develop in the axillary tissue in your armpits, which is far worse than having cancer in the breasts.  If cancer develops in the breasts, they can be removed, but cancer in the axillary tissue is much harder to treat.

Ulric Collette is a photographer from Quebec. He studied art and graphic design at school and currently works as an art director for Collette, an advertising studio in Quebec City.

In this series, called Genetic Portraits, Ulric splices together portraits of family members to explore genetic similarities.

From parents and their children, to twins, siblings and cousins, the series is fascinating, and just a little bit spooky.
